About Me
My name is Genesis
I’m a chemical engineer, aromatherapist, and sustainability advocate with a passion for bridging science and soul. My journey spans the petroleum, mining, and data science industries—fields that taught me the discipline of precision, the rigor of systems thinking, and the value of innovation driven by purpose.

From Industry to Intention
I began my career in the petroleum and mining sectors, working on process optimization, environmental compliance, and production efficiency. These years grounded me in the realities of industrial chemistry and resource management—how matter moves, transforms, and impacts the world we live in.
But as I deepened in my practice, I started asking a different question:
“How can science heal, rather than just extract?”
That question became the turning point of my path.

A New Kind of Engineering
I shifted my focus toward sustainability, circular design, and natural product innovation—a move that allowed me to apply engineering principles to more human-centered, regenerative systems. Through my company, Albay West Coast Sustainable Innovations Inc. (AWCSI), I now lead initiatives that merge technical expertise with environmental mindfulness.
Our projects span:
-
Renewable systems — from solar-powered water refilling stations to local waste-to-resource innovations
-
Natural formulation and aromatherapy — creating plant-based skincare, wellness oils, and eco-friendly homecare products
-
Community-based sustainability — promoting local agriculture, herbal distillation, and circular resource use
Every endeavor reflects one philosophy: science can—and should—nurture life.

Where Data Meets Design
My background in data science deepens my approach to sustainability. I view data as a language—a way to measure what matters, validate intuition, and design smarter, cleaner systems. Whether it’s tracking carbon impacts or optimizing distillation yields, I find meaning in merging analytics with artistry.

Rooted in Mindfulness
Beyond technology, I’m also an aromatherapist and mental health advocate, exploring how scent, chemistry, and emotion intersect. My blog, “Strength in Strides,” and podcast, “Beneath the Surface,” are extensions of this exploration—spaces where I share reflections on healing, balance, and creative purpose through the lens of science and lived experience.

Vision
To redefine what it means to be a chemical engineer in the modern age:
not confined to industries, but expanding into sustainable design, sensory science, and social good.
To create systems—and stories—that remind us that progress and compassion can coexist.
